Néolithe, for a New Industry

Reducing the carbon impact of waste with local and circular solutions

Created in 2019, the company was founded on an original idea by William Cruaud, with Nicolas Cruaud and Clément Bénassy, based on an objective : to neutralize the carbon footprint of the waste treatment sector and control our environmental impact by multiplying our industrial solutions in local areas.

Today, Néolithe is a 200-strong company based in Anjou, near Angers, specializing in the material recovery of non-recyclable, non-hazardous and non-inert waste. This waste is transformed into construction materials, in the form of aggregates used in concrete for the building industry. This industrial process reduces the amount of waste sent to landfill and cuts the associated CO2 emissions, providing a circular alternative to landfill and incineration.

Our vision : Reuse – Recycle – Recover

Néolithe aims for the best possible recovery of waste and encourages its reduction : what can be avoided must be avoided, and what can be reused or recycled must also be reused or recycled. Accelerated Fossilization replaces landfill or incineration, and moves up the hierarchy of values for waste treatment methods set out in the European Union’s Waste Framework Directive EUR-Lex – 02008L0098-20180705 – EN – EUR-Lex (europa.eu) : after recycling, before energy recovery.

Let's always favour the most virtuous outcome for the waste :
  1. What can be reused must be reused
  2. What can be recycled must be recycled
  3. What can be recovered in the form of materials must be recovered
  4. What cannot be recovered in material form must be recovered energetically
  5. What cannot be recovered is landfilled or incinerated

According to you, what’s the best way to deal with our waste ?

Our ambitions :

Reindustrialization

Néolithe plans to deploy plants capable of processing 100,000 tonnes of waste per year. In these large-scale facilities dedicated to the material recovery of non-recyclable waste, each tonne will not only avoid CO2 emissions compared with current solutions, but will also sequester CO2.

Néolithe’s industrial pilot enabled us to learn, improve, correct and perfect our model. The result : a more robust solution, ready to go to scale, with 100,000-ton plants all over France.

By replicating this model, Néolithe aims to make industry a driving force in the fight against global warming !

Our establishments
  • First industrial pilot (Avrillé)
  • Campus : binder plant and second industrial pilot (Beaulieu-sur-Layon)
  • Materials science laboratory (Chalonnes-sur-Loire)

Creating local circular economy loops

Néolithe is implementing a circular approach to waste management, offering an alternative to landfill and incineration.

Future over-sorting and Accelerated Fossilization plants will build their activities around local partnerships :

  • Upstream, with waste managers, then with recycling players, maximizing the extraction of recyclable materials at our plants,
  • Downstream with quarries and construction companies.

Located in the heart of the region, these facilities will boost the regional economy.

In collaboration with our partners, customers and institutions, we are working to bring about a robust, competitive New Industry aligned with national carbon neutrality objectives.
